✨ A hope that never fails.

Been quietly passing through the last 2 months, my faith waxing and waning like the ever-changing face of the moon, and realising how fragile are the plans we make in the face of God’s sovereignty. Like a child, I only run to Him in times of desperation, when things need fixing, when I have no other way, when I don’t know what to do anymore. It’s only in tough messy times when you know whose love is unconditional. “ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 chimes in like a wake-up bell. There are still many things to hope for, and if it’s not too late for a new year spiritual resolution, let my steps tread boldly on the good and narrow path that Jesus has laid out before me.

吃饱了吗?🐟 Fish is a staple in my in-laws home, there is never a meal without a steaming soup filled with broth and gleaming white slices waiting to be fished out. 🥢 Home is where a warm meal greets you after a long day at work, and all is put aside for that 10-15 minutes to just eat with a grateful heart. 😋

These sets of cherry wood chopsticks made by @themakerc are paired with a chubby-bellied tembusu fish rest, and are available at Singapore Visitor Centre, Somerset. Go fish!

A flock of tea leaves scoops inspired by nature. We’re pretty lucky to be surrounded by so much greenery here in Singapore. I’ve a friend who’s an avid birdwatcher and I’m amazed by how many different types there are waiting to be found on our island are if one looks close enough 👀

“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

It’s been a long wonderful year leading up to Christmas, and amidst the stormy days there is still so much to be thankful for. May your days be filled with the hope, peace and joy of Christ who loves us like no other. ❤️ Blessed Christmas!

clay x coffee x wood

What a weekend it’s been! Hidden within a quiet housing estate, Weekend Worker and Everyday Canoe had its first pop-up retail and handbrewed coffee experience at the lovely Maple & Market. Look at all them pastries!

The idea was born out of a love for many things. Coffee, what’s made by hand, earthy wares and to share a conversation with strangers. When Chloe from the ceramic collective Weekend Worker told me about this, my head was like, “Yes!” and my hands were itching to make new wares as well.

We had 4 bar seats and 4 unique platters pairing ceramics and wood. People would sit in front of the set they preferred, and make themselves comfy as Chloe told them a little more about the beans she had to offer.

Upon selecting the type of bean, each of which came with a different method of brewing to best bring out their natural flavours, they were ground. The aroma that filled the cafe was soooo comforting.

Much like wine pairing, the presentation of the platter was key to the sensorial experience of smell, taste and sight. Blueberries were offered for their subtle sweet flavour, which really brought out a different dimension to the coffee methinks!

Thank you to all for dropping by to accompany us in the Coffee x Clay x Wood experience. Till next time!
