crafting christmas

❄✳✂

"Are you awake?" the message read. It was 9am, the craft market I had to prepare for starts at 1pm.

Eeps!

I’ve got a bad track record of oversleeping on very important occasions. But somehow there was a sense of peace within me, knowing that though time was short, I would be in the company of a good friend and good folks.

The Christmas Pop-up Store was everything I had hoped for and more! I shared the space of The L-Shaped Room in the wonderful company of fellow ladies, all gifted and explosively passionate about what they love doing.

Melly from Greenlaundry with her poms and paper mobiles, Jan from The Weaving Party2 superbakers Ailyn and Chomel and a too-modest-but-probably-super-zai baristress Jovy from Maple & Market.

It was humbling to learn how to tie twine all over again (oh my butterfingers!), how to welcome a stranger, how to share freely without fear or hesitation.

Amidst the circling crowd that came and went in waves, we managed to find time to banter, cackle over animal biscuits, all the while keeping each other hydrated, well-fed with cake and jolly.

I really couldn’t ask for more.

Thank you girls for the mad laughter, merriment and help when you saw me struggling (Darn twine!).

To all who said hi, hello again. To all who gave a smile, keep smiling.

To my friends (old and new), I’m glad we shared a day together that I’ll never forget.

To God, thank you for seeing me through the past few months of whittling, questioning, wondering.

You made this happen.
