Throwback to the week before Christmas, where I was glad to be counted as part of Four Natures. Made up of four girls working with four elements in the path of distinct crafts, we wanted to see how our paths could come together to form complementary landscape and oh what a great and blessed one the pop-up turned out to be! What more could I ask for than to share in the spirit of craft and Christmas with 3 other local crafters who have been growing in their own element for the past few years.
Here’s Chloe, from Weekend Worker, ceramicist and fellow Japan-ophile.
And Jo, from The Letter J Supply, who wields her calligraphy pen with such elegance it shows in every stroke and letter she writes! She’s getting interviewed by a local telly station in the photo, looking especially radiant in front of the camera.
And Pam from Saught, who champions peace with her jewelry.
Awk-tastic sisterhood of the Christmas pop-up store photo, hehe! Makes me laugh every time I see this photo, the art direction was literally just ‘pretend you’re doing something’ and this was what we pulled off. Love how we’re all a bit mad at the same time.
Ziwei, effortlessly styling the place up.
Hand-sculpted little Mount Fuji! And Cupsicums, as their creator Suloon calls them, are lovely cups cast from real capsicums.
Every day as things passed onto new owners and people came through the shop, objects were in constant rearrangement and we had the chance to sculpt the space as time passed. I think the best part of about having this pop-up was also about meeting people and telling them more about the story behind the objects they were interested in.
It’s a wrap for now till the next Four Natures pop-up! Thank you to all who came down to support local crafters like us, we still have much to grow and do but knowing that our community is growing gives us that wonderful booster to keep going and keep crafting!
